Martine Rose

Martine after the second trip to Bangkok for further surgery Martine Rose is a heterosexual transvestite dedicated to helping all who love to wear feminine attire. In 1979, Martine set up a house in Sheffield, England with the specific aim of providing comprehensive help and social facilities to help others – the sort of support that Martine felt in need of whilst coming to terms with the desire to cross dress. This was in the days long before ‘dressing services’ have become almost commonplace. It was the success of this venture that led to the founding of Rose’s as a membership group and the introduction of Repartee magazine ten years later.

For many years, Martine produced the magazine virtually single handed. During the early years Martine also had to run Rose’s Club but the pressure of work became so great that in mid 1998, Martine was joined by Bella Jay to look after the administration side of Rose’s. Over the years Bella gradually took on more roles in the running of Rose’s and is now the editor of Repartee itself. Bella taking on the bulk of the work has allowed Martine to move into a semi-retirement situation but remains involved as a technical consultant and still prepares the magazine for the printers.

The much reduced work load in recent years allowed Martine to finally realise a dream of living full-time as a woman. In 2007 Martine went to Bangkok to have facial feminisation surgery and breast implants but had no desire for gender reassigment surgery (the actual sex change). Martine does not consider herself to be a transsexual (transgender would be a better label), because despite now living as a woman, still retains male heterosexual feelings towards women (and still remains ever hopeful of one day finding a lady friend / partner / lover!). Martine writes:
I really love dressing up ‘over-the top’ in gorgeously feminine outfits, the more exotic the better. I would love the opportunity to wear period costumes, particularly crinolines and those of the Victorian era, and I love corsets (both wearing them and seeing ladies wear them). I also have a passion for fetishy things like ultra high heels, tight skirts, and long finger nails. I like to do dress-making and made many of the outfits shown in the pictures below.

I am single but I would really love to meet a woman who shares my interest in ‘dressing up’ and my taste in exotic clothes. Please contact me at martine@repartee.tv
